The
challenge:
To some extent we all store private and sensitive
information in files on computers, digital cameras and
mobile phones.
When the information no longer are of any value, the files are delete the
usual way to free up storage space and make the information unavailable.
When using
standard deletion methods the files
are not deleted in a secure way. The files
are only marked as deleted.
This means that
deleted files and information are accessible to others. This is a security risk, for instance by theft, data
snooping or other ways of computer crime.
Our recommendation:
When deleting
files containing private or sensitive information,
we recommend using
software that uses
secure deletion methods.
CID Shredder
is easy to use,
and has secure deletion methods
for securely deleting files and information on computers, mobile phones and
digital cameras.
